Our innovative, research-based approach delivers a rich learning experience, tailored to meet each student's unique needs.

Evidence-Based Teaching

At The Turing School, we utilise a range of evidence-based frameworks to underpin our teaching and curriculum. Our commitment to excellence, in part, extends from our professional learning platform, which offers comprehensive insights into numerous aspects of teaching, learning, and wider school operations. In our pursuit of academic excellence for our Pupil Premium students, we equip our teachers with evidence-informed resources to support their practice. Our approach, grounded in research, integrates high-quality curriculum materials, pedagogical expertise, and effective use of assessments. This holistic, evidence-based approach fosters an environment conducive to creativity, encouraging lifelong learning among our students and ensuring they're well-equipped for future success.

Continuous Professional Development

Our commitment to continuous professional development is unwavering at The Turing School. Our approach, recognised nationally, integrates the latest research evidence to improve teacher quality through insights from research on effective professional learning and development and teacher motivation.

Our innovative development programme combines research-informed practices with evidence-based learning, supported by a state-of-the-art professional learning platform and dynamic instructional coaching model. Through these resources, our teachers engage with more objective insights into education, deepening their expertise and enhancing their teaching skills. Our supportive and collaborative environment, informed by educational leadership research, ensures we consistently deliver an impressive education for our Pupil Premium students.

Leveraging Technology for Enhanced Learning

We believe in harnessing the power of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Our use of digital technology is purposeful and focused, underpinned by effective pedagogy. Our educators make informed decisions about technology use in the classroom, ensuring that it addresses specific barriers to learning, particularly for disadvantaged pupils. Our approach is informed by the EEF’s ‘Using Digital Technology to Improve Learning’ guidance, ensuring that we stay abreast of best practices in educational technology.

Targeted Academic Support

In line with our commitment to aspiration, we provide targeted academic support to Pupil Premium students. Our interventions are designed to support literacy, academic progress and numeracy, and are carefully linked to classroom teaching. We also provide specific resources to support disadvantaged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that each student’s unique needs are met.

Fostering Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Skills

Recognising the importance of social-emotional learning, we provide targeted interventions to support our students' emotional and behavioural needs. In line with our commitment to holistic education, we recognise that nurturing emotional well-being is as critical as fostering academic achievement. Our nurturing environment helps to develop crucial life skills for our Pupil Premium students, such as empathy, self-regulation, effective communication, and resilience, enabling our students to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity

At The Turing School, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive learning environment for all. Our provision for Pupil Premium students reflects this commitment. By understanding and addressing the unique needs of each student, we ensure that our Pupil Premium students feel valued, respected, and capable of achieving their fullest potential.
