Ofsted
Ofsted, February 2026:
We are pleased to share with you the results of our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 10 February 2026. This report reflects our commitment to providing a nurturing environment where every pupil can feel safe and supported. We are incredibly proud of the focus, hard work, dedication and behaviour of our students during this visit, and the way they spoke so highly of our school.
Understanding the New Inspection Judgements
You will notice that Ofsted has introduced a new way of grading schools to provide a clearer picture of performance across different areas. The grades are now categorised as follows:
-
Exceptional: Practice is of the highest standard nationally.
-
Strong Standard: Leaders are working above the standard expected of them.
-
Expected Standard: The school is fulfilling all statutory and professional standards.
-
Needs Attention: Expected standards are not yet met, but leaders have the capacity to improve.
-
Urgent Improvement: Urgent action is required to meet expected standards.
Key Highlights from the Report
We are incredibly proud of the positive comments from the inspectors. Here are some of the most encouraging comments regarding our pupils' experiences:
-
"Pupils are happy and well cared for. They know that staff want the best for them."
-
"Respectful relationships between staff and pupils foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment."
-
"The school is a calm and orderly place. Leaders have established a welcoming culture which is built on mutual respect and trust."
-
“ Pupils benefit from nurturing pastoral care which helps them to learn how to manage their feelings and emotions”
-
“The school’s well‑designed and age‑appropriate personal, social and health education programme builds pupils’ knowledge well.”
-
“Pupils build character, confidence and leadership skills while contributing positively to the school community.”
-
"Leaders have designed an effective and coherent personal development programme... to prepare [pupils] well for adult life."
-
“Pupils currently in the school are building their knowledge and skills with increasing confidence compared with the past. This means that more pupils than before progress well through the curriculum and are better prepared for their next steps in education, employment or training.”
-
“Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. Pupils appreciate the fact that staff take every opportunity to nurture and celebrate positive behaviour”
-
“Pupils trust staff to deal efficiently with any worries or concerns they have, including any incidents of bullying”
-
"Leaders know their pupils and community well. They are ambitious for the school and are committed to securing further improvement."
-
“Leaders accurately identify the needs of pupils, including pupils with SEND. Where appropriate, they work with external professionals and parents and carers to gather additional information about the support that individual pupils require.”
-
“Leaders make sure that pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and vulnerable pupils are fully included in school life so that they feel part of this community.”
Whilst we recognise that “historically, pupils, including those who are disadvantaged, have not achieved as well as they should in national examinations”, we agree with Ofsted that “Leaders are taking decisive action to address this. Their actions have begun to make a positive difference.”
While we celebrate these successes, we remain focused on our "Next Steps." This includes continuing to work with parents to improve overall attendance, refining how we use assessment to help pupils achieve highly, and driving rapid improvements in mathematics, science, and writing.
We invite you to review the detailed strategy documents for these focal areas, available on our website. We strongly believe that these measures will not only address Ofsted's recommendations but also contribute to a fulfilling educational experience for all our students.
