Welcome to Swale Academies Trust School Direct

Train to become a successful, confident and effective teacher, equipped to teach across a variety of age and ability ranges. As a School Direct trainee you will gain teaching experience in one of our Trust or partner schools.

School Direct is a school based route into teaching, whereas an unqualified teacher you will learn alongside highly skilled and passionate teachers as well as gaining insight into the profession through bespoke training sessions. 

Working in conjunction with a range of local Universities, Alliances & School Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) organisations, we recruit and train teachers on the School Direct Programme which leads into gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). 

We have a proven track record of delivering high quality teacher training and have developed a rigorous and robust training programme, tailored to meet the needs of trainees at different starting points and levels of previous experience.

Having the support of skilled professionals around you gives you more confidence as you learn ‘on the job’. The practical experience is invaluable, it is an amazing route into teaching and will most definitely form strong foundations to build a career on. You are given a Subject Mentor who will guide you through the year and have support from the Trust.
