Curriculum Intent

At The Turing School, our Physical Education curriculum is designed to cultivate a lifelong love of physical activity, promoting positive and healthy habits, alongside important employability skills such as communication, collaboration, and leadership. By offering a diverse range of physical activities and sports, we aim to develop physical literacy, tactics, creativity, and effectiveness; all key skills that enhance the employability of our students.

Our curriculum inspires students to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities, helping them become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Furthermore, our PE curriculum provides students with cultural capital, exposing them to the traditions and reference points associated with sport and physical activity, and preparing them for lifelong involvement in physical activity, sport, and even employment opportunities. We believe that a high-quality PE curriculum is an entitlement for all pupils and a gateway into the world of physical activity and play, making our lives go better, not just longer.
